Field Photography Workshop at Passo Giau: Autumn in the Dolomites

Saturday, October 17, 2026: An intensive hands-on landscape workshop at 2,200 meters, focused on field composition and advanced shooting techniques.

This is not a casual photo tour or a roadside shooting stop. We will spend the entire afternoon and sunset exploring ridgelines and the Mondeval slopes, working hands-on with tripods, filters, and manual settings.

The workshop is designed for photographers looking to move beyond quick snapshots and master a disciplined field methodology:

  • Composition & focal choices: Using wide-angle framing to build depth through foreground textures, or switching to a telephoto lens to isolate cliff faces across Cinque Torri and Tofana di Rozes.

  • Advanced field techniques: In-field focus stacking for edge-to-edge sharpness, manual bracketing to control extreme dynamic range at sunset, and long exposures with ND filters during blue hour.

  • Shooting for RAW development: Exposing with intent to preserve full sensor dynamic range for clean digital processing.

The group is strictly capped at 8 participants to ensure individual guidance and dedicated review of your compositions. The workshop also includes a follow-up live online processing session to develop the RAW files captured during our shoot.
