NIK Collection 9: What's Really Different

With version 9 of the NIK Collection we are not faced with the usual update.
This time the way of working has changed.
A faster, smoother, more creative system
The real novelty is not a single filter.
It's how the whole system works together.
You no longer dive into plugins just to apply an effect or refine an image. Now you can build your shot directly within the NIKs, quickly and naturally.
And that's exactly what makes the difference.
AI Masks and Photoshop Integration
New AI-powered masks make the workflow much more immediate.
Object selection, depth mask, brightness and color: everything is
faster and more intuitive.
Additionally, you can bring masks created in Photoshop into the NIKs and use them in various filters.
A pass that combines precision and speed in an extremely effective way.
Color Grading: A Few Clicks, Instant Results
The new Color Grading filter is one of the most interesting additions.
With just a few steps you can work on:
shadows
half tones
lights
and completely change the mood of the image.
It's simple, straightforward, and most importantly, very fast.
Halation: atmosphere and character
The Halation filter introduces a glow effect inspired by analog photography.
It allows you to work on highlights by creating a soft and natural halo, adding depth and atmosphere to the shot.
New blending options
One of the most important new features is the introduction of blending modes directly in the filters.
This allows for much more flexible color and contrast combinations, increasing creative control without leaving the plugin.
Is it worth it?
Yes.
Not so much for the single instrument, but for the way everything works together.
It's faster. It's smoother. It's more creative.
And above all — at least for me — it's also more fun.
