My style
My photography is strongly influenced by cinema and painting. In every shot, I seek an atmosphere capable of evoking emotion, where light becomes a true narrative tool.
I love both color, with its infinite shades, and black and white, with its ability to get to the essence. For me, post-production is not an artifice, but an extension of the shot: a way to interpret reality and give it a personal voice. I have developed a precise and refined workflow, the result of years of research and practice, which I also share in my courses and training projects.
Collaborations
I am part of Tony Kuyper's development team, contributing to the improvement of his famous TK9 panel for Photoshop and overseeing its official Italian translation. I have created the free official TK9 basic course, available on my website and accessible to photographers worldwide.
I also collaborate with leading post-production companies and software houses such as Skylum, DxO, Topaz Lab, and Retouch4Me, bringing my field experience to the development, testing, and dissemination of advanced tools.

Training and outreach
Sharing is a fundamental part of my work. Through my YouTube channel Nico Ruffato | Visual, I create tutorials on Lightroom, Photoshop, and photography in general, as well as travel vlogs that combine images and storytelling. I have also created a free introductory course dedicated to the TK9 panel (italian only), available on my website, to help other photographers integrate luminosity masks into their workflow.
Portfolio and projects
My portfolio ranges from the peaks of the Dolomites to the Venetian lagoon, from misty forests to ocean sunsets. I focus particularly on fine art black and white photography, constantly striving for tonal balance and visual clarity.
I manage two separate Instagram profiles to showcase my two visual journeys:
-

Vision
For me, photography is a form of meditation: a suspended moment in time when the world falls silent and everything is concentrated in an instant. Each shot is an attempt to capture that moment, to convey to the viewer the wonder that I myself felt.
I believe in the power of images as a tool to tell stories, evoke emotions, and encourage reflection on the beauty—and fragility—of our planet.

My name is Nico Ruffato and I am an Italian photographer specializing in landscape photography and post-production. I live in a place that I consider a privilege: halfway between Venice and the Dolomites, where every day I can breathe in the beauty of natural scenery that inspires and nourishes my creativity.
From spark to vocation
My passion for photography began almost by chance and grew to become my vocation. Self-taught, driven by a desire to capture light and tell stories, I went on to study with masters such as Enrico Fossati, Joel Tjintjelaar, Nik Page, and Sean Bagshaw, developing a style that combines technique and artistic sensibility.
