On Thursday, December 18, 2025, at 9 p.m., I will have the pleasure of hosting photojournalist Andrea Signori , an intense and profoundly narrative voice in contemporary photography, live on my YouTube channel.
His work goes beyond the simple document: it constructs stories, investigates the relationship between people and their territories, gives visual form to the social and human complexities of our time.
Andrea is a freelance photojournalist and contributor to the Parallelozero agency. He holds a degree in Political Science and a diploma from the Roman School of Photography and Cinema. He has produced reportages in Africa, Eastern Europe, the Middle East, South America, and Italy , chronicling contexts and communities often far removed from our everyday lives, yet so close to us in their universal dynamics.
His images have been published in publications such as Newsweek, Panorama, 7 – Corriere della Sera, Repubblica, Terra Mater, Courrier International, Vanity Fair, Internazionale .
Among the awards received are the final selections at the World Press Photo 2021 and 2022 , as well as the Kolga Photo Contest, Hellerau Photography Award, TIFA, MIFA and many others.
During the live we will talk about:
How a long-term photographic project is born
the relationship with the people portrayed and the ethics of photojournalism
the fine line between document and interpretation
How to tell complex stories through a single image
the profession of photojournalist today, between agencies, publications and personal research
photography as a narrative and political language
Three of the images Andrea sent me—and which you can see below—describe his vision well: direct, symbolic, capable of revealing what normally remains invisible.
These are photographs that require time, attention, and listening.
Images that raise questions before offering answers.
It will be an open, sincere conversation that will go beyond reportage in the deepest sense: not just talking about photography, but describing the world through the eyes of those who travel through it, to share it with others.
