TK9 Plug-in for Photoshop

I’ve been using TK Actions since way back in 2016, starting with version TK4. Right from the start, I realized that this plugin would forever change the way I approach photo post-production, especially when it comes to landscape photography.

Toward the end of 2022, I became a beta tester for TK9, handled the Italian translation, and joined the development team led by Tony Kuyper—the creator of this extraordinary plugin.

Tony published his first tutorial on luminance masks in 2006. Since then, he has made this technique available to anyone who wants to use it, and TKs have evolved with each new version to become an essential tool for anyone looking to take their post-production to the next level—in any genre of photography.

The latest version is called TK9 v4 and represents a significant leap forward compared to previous versions.

The TK9 Photoshop plug-in is the ultimate tool for enhancing creativity and control in Photoshop.

The main feature is the ability to create pixel-based masks: masks based on brightness, color channels, hue, saturation, vividness, alpha channels, as well as masks for edges, semi-edges, and focus. All masks are infinitely editable and can be combined using addition, subtraction, or intersection.

What's New in TK9 v4

• Gradient masks, layer mask gradients, and color gradients—all created quickly and easily.

• Depth Map Studio: generates region-of-interest masks based on the perceived depth in the image.

• Automatic setting of the Gray Working Space for optimal brightness masks.

• Full support for 32-bit and HDR images.

The plug-in includes nine modules: Multi-Mask, Combo, Cx, Export, and five My Actions modules. Button clicks can be recorded as Photoshop actions to repeat common workflows with a single click. The Export module optimizes images for the web, handles watermarks, cropping, actions, and saving—for a single image or an entire folder.

The TK9 works on Windows and Mac, including Apple Silicon M1/M2/M3/M4/M5 processors. Requires Photoshop 2023 version 24.6.0 or later and the Adobe Creative Cloud app for installation.
